The Green Bay Packers have released veteran kicker Brandon McManus, according to an ESPN report on Friday.
The team selected Florida kicker Trey Smack in the sixth round of last month’s draft.
McManus, 34, connected on 24 of 30 field goals and 32 of 33 extra-point attempts during his second season with the Packers in 2025. He missed both field-goal attempts (from 55 and 44 yards) in a 31-27 wild-card playoff loss to rival Chicago.
A Super Bowl 50 champion with the Denver Broncos, McManus spent nine seasons in Denver (2014–2022) and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2023) before joining Green Bay.
Among active NFL players, McManus ranks fifth in total points (1,265) and fifth in field goals made (297). He has made 51 field goals of 50 or more yards, including a career-long 61-yarder in 2021.
Smack, 22, converted 53 of 64 field goals (82.8%) and 100 of 101 extra points over four seasons at Florida.
