After the match, a heated Aaron Escandell sharply criticized what he sees as refereeing decisions that have undermined Oviedo’s chances: “Today they didn’t want us to win, I say it clearly. The referees did whatever Getafe wanted. Both red cards are questionable. I don’t know what we’ve done—do they want to send us down to Segunda? Today it was clear they want us at the bottom. It’s shameful; they should have it looked into, even though we’ve also earned our place here.”

Almada, though less forceful, also did not hold back, denouncing what he sees as an obvious double standard: “A different criterion was applied compared to other games with similar actions. Today we were penalized under a different standard; you never know what to expect in dubious situations that happen in every match and always go against us. I don’t recall a single game we’ve won because of a questionable call that benefited us. I’m not trying to shirk responsibility, but refereeing gives and takes. We’ve been disadvantaged in very important moments. The match against Betis is another example.”
