Harimoto posted: “This tournament was fought with a different lineup than two years ago, but it was once again a team I can be very proud of. Whether playing or not, all the players supported each other, creating the best environment to strengthen our teamwork. I had the opportunity to play in every match, so I competed with a sense of gratitude.”
She looked back, saying, “I was determined to make use of what I experienced two years ago. This tournament was a completely different challenge for me. It’s frustrating that we couldn’t win the gold, but I will continue to work hard and keep challenging myself. I want to stand at the top and see a different view.” She also added heartfelt thanks: “I was able to fight all the way thanks to the support of the entire Japanese team, coaches, and staff. Thank you so much for your support. And thank you to everyone who cheered for Japan late into the night!!!”
The post drew comments from fans and followers such as “Thank you for the inspiration,” “Harimoto is definitely growing stronger and reliable!” “I think this is the strongest Japan women’s table tennis team ever,” and “Powerful Miwa-chan brought me a storm of emotion and joy. Congratulations!”
Harimoto played in two matches during the final against China, winning her first match to give the team momentum and contributing to the team’s effort. On the 11th, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced the world rankings, where she moved up two spots to No. 3.
