Pyramids FC clinched the Egypt Cup for the current season after defeating ZED FC in the final held at Cairo International Stadium. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Pyramids.
Karim Hafez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 45th minute of the first half, with referee Mohamed Maarouf consulting VAR before awarding the spot kick. Congolese striker Fiston Mayele doubled the lead in the 58th minute with a brilliant one-time strike from inside the box.
ZED FC pulled one back in stoppage time through Raafat Khalil, who headed home from a cross by Mostafa Saad Messi in the 90+4 minute. The goal was initially disallowed for a suspected offside but was later confirmed after a VAR review.
With this victory, Pyramids FC secured the Egypt Cup for the second time in their history, having previously won the trophy in the 2023 season.
