The Iraqi Football Association has successfully finalized the case of Ahmed Qasim (22 years old), an Iraqi player currently playing for Nashville in the United States, after completing all official procedures that qualify him to represent the Iraqi national team in upcoming competitions.

Ghanem Oraibi, a member of the executive office of the association, confirmed that the expatriate committee managed to issue the player’s passport and settle his file through the Iraqi consulate in the state of Michigan, USA, following intensive work spanning several countries from Sweden to the United States and reaching Iraq.
Oraibi also stated that the association has begun transferring the player’s file from the Swedish Football Association to the Iraqi Football Association, ensuring that all administrative and legal conditions are met for him to officially wear the jersey of the “Lions of Mesopotamia” in the coming period.
